Galina Skuratova was born in Russia, Saratov.
She graduated in 1973 from the State Academy of Ballet in Saratov (Vaganova method).
In the years 1973 to 1993 she was a principal dancer of the Moscow Classical Ballet under the direction of N. Kasatkina and V. Vasiljov.
In 1988 she was awarded with the honorary title "Meritorious Artist of Russia".

In 2012, she prepared students for Beijing International Ballet Competition, where Natasha Mair won the "Jury Special Prize" and Jacob Feyferlik won the third place.
In Rome at the International Dance Competition "Premio Roma Danza 2012" Natasha Mair got The First Place and Jacob Feyferlik awarded The Second Place)
Guest teacher in Italy "Professional Workshop Tues Danza Classica".
Since her work at the opera ballet school many of her students were accepted by the companies of the State Opera and Volks Opera.
